Xerox Workcentre Secure Print Override?

Hey guys,

I've been looking on the Xerox website and through their tools but can't seem to find how to override a secure print job. A user has a secure print job sitting on a WorkCentre 5638 but even logged in with Admin access (or via the WebUI) I can't find any option of releasing it with my elevated credentials. I could tell her it can't be done but just curious if any of you have any tips and tricks. We have 5 of these MFPs in the building where I work and would be nice to have some tricks up my sleeves!

I should have mentioned that the user accesses various servers via RDP and her lock code is improperly set on one of them (she has no idea which one it was from).

removing secured print job on Xerox D110 after user leaves organization

I've got a bit of a strange one. We had a former employee send a secure print job to our Xerox D110 while they still worked here. They never got around to releasing the job and they didn't leave their print pass code so we haven't found a way to release or delete the job. I've tried logging in using my admin credentials with no luck. I've also looked at the web interface with no luck. A technician was out here yesterday working on the system (on a different issue) and I asked him if there was a way and he said he didn't know. He tried logging in with his service credentials but didn't see anything jump out at him to allow him to do anything about it. Anyone ever faced this with Xerox or with the D110 (which has a nearly identical interface as that of our Xerox 560C) in particular? Any idea how I can delete the abandoned job? Thanks!

Xerox 7435 Aborted (016-799)

Seems to me that Excel 2010 (not Word 2010), when the Xerox Workstation 7435 PCL6 is chosen, will set paper size to ‘custom, no matter which paper I did choose.

Xerox Phaser 8400 and 8560 Repair

I have a few Xerox printers that I need to get repaired, they are 8400 and 8560 models.

I'd like to find a local repair place that would be able to give me a free estimate on repair. We are a school district to resources are limited, and I'd rather spend the money on the actual repair or a replacement unit than on an estimate for repair, though I'd be ok if the amount for the estimate was applied to the cost of the repair should I decide to repair it.

I am in Menlo Park, CA - onsite repair would be great (these are largish printers), but I can take them to a shop if it is close enough.

Phaser 8560 Error Message 07 101 43 36584

Hi

I am getting the above error. I have tried

1. Turing it on and off

2. Removing the maintenance kit

3. It will not let me enter service mode if I hold down back and cancel buttons

Any ideas will be a big help

Xerox WorkCentre 7545 Driver Question

Hello all,

We are in the process of deploying a xerox workcentre 7545 via group policy (to our abs 2011 server with print server enabled), and I am in the process of finding the correct drivers.  We have almost all 64 bit client pc's, but I will need to add 32 bit driver to print server as well.  My question is, after looking on xerox's website, I see a ton of drivers - which are the correct ones? I see for example 

Web-based Print Driver Installer

Xerox Mobile Express Driver

Xerox Global Print Driver

Generic PPD

PCL Driver - Xerox User Interface

Etc.

I should mention all of our clients are running windows 7.  Thanks for any answers that may help!

How do I configure LDAP on Xerox 7545?

Hello,

I am trying to get the global address book from our Exchange 2010 server to show up on the Xerox 7545 machines we have on our network and am not having any luck. I am sure itis something I am missing as I am new to this.

In the Cerreware Internet Services portal for the printer...

I have the IP address for our AD server assigned. I've tri setting the LDAP Serverdrop downbox to both EXCHANGE and ADS.

For the SEARCH DIRECTORY ROOT I have dc=domain,dc=local

I have the login credentials set to SYSTEM and am currently using an admin account to login (I've read that youshouldnot use an admin account, but I'vealso read that you should so I am more than happy to get feedback on this point).

I have SSL enabled, but I have also tried turning it off. I save the settings and when I try to test it under User Mappings I can search for "IT" and it...

Do any of you guys know how to extract mono print volumes from Xerox Tier 1 meter, which as you know includes some low coverage colour.  I cannot find anyway of extracting this info.

Xerox 7655: Cannot print Booklet Creation

I Have a Xerox WorkCenter 7655 with Finisher. I can print, stable and punch hole, but when I try to do booklet I always have a message saying missing resource. I do specify my 8x11 tray. The resource it is missing is the 8x11 Plain Paper?

I have open the drawers and speciifed Plain Paper for the selected drawer. I might doing something wrong, but I've been trying to print some booklet for the last couple of hours.

P.S. Funny thing, I bought this unit second hand, should have taken down the weight of this unit before getting it. Just the body is over 600 pounds...

Unable to print on Tabloid 11 x 17 with Xerox Global Print Driver

I have been having the same problems. Let me explain that I'm a Helpdesk Admin and two users that I know of have a prob with the tabloid size printing. Jalapeno wizechatmgr seemed to be successful in using the Xerox PS driver but when I used it the printer sends out jibberish. wizechatmgr  did you have to uninstall and re-install the Global driver or just install the PS option? I really like to know the specifics. I appreciate anybody's help.

Phaser 3320 goes constantly offline in Windows 7 x64

Hey there,

We have trouble getting a brand new Phaser 3320 to print over network. It is configuried with a static IP and I can ping the printer and can connect to the CWIS no problem. I can even print a page but after a minute the printer goes offline and I have to restart the spooler service to get it back online.

Things I already tried to no avail:

  • using the PS driver instead of the PCL6
  • disabling the SNMP status in the port settings
  • disabling SNMP on the printer directly
  • choosing a completly different SNMP community string
  • installing the Microsoft hotfix2713128
  • adding the DWORD "SNMPLegacy" with value "1" toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print

Windows troubleshooting claims the printer has no power and the Xerox status window shows the printer in sleep mode.

Any ideas what to try next?

Can't Access Xerox Printer Properties Page After Hard Drive Change (7556 WorkC)

We have Xerox work centres around the office and when a 7556 had a hard drive failure, the tech came out and replaced.


Since then, one user on Windows 7 does not get the "Xerox Printer Properties Page"



That image is what I get when I go into Word, Click Print, Then Click Printer Properties.

Same OS, Same Printer, Different Results. 
Any idea why it would do this (I updated her driver even though I wasn't required to, and I even put her on DHCP and deleted her PTR record and had her rejoin the domain)

Xerox 7545 shifting copy output

We have a WorkCentre 7545 that makes copies that are being shifted a small amount on the paper, but it is cutting some of the content off.  I've already checked the document feed guides, they are snug against the paper and it still happens, with any paper size. I also turned off edge cutoff so the copy should exactly match the original.

Xerox contract

This post may sound a little naive, but I'm doing some digging for my company and I have some questions. I am trying to find out if we are being jacked around by a printer company. We bought a printer out right for about $11,000 a few years back. We continue with a service agreement for about $25 a month. My question is, if we OWN this machine, and do not lease it, why are we being billed for each black and white print as well as colored print??? I'm not sure how that is normal for us to still be paying over $300 a month when we own it. I'm hoping that I am just not aware of how this works, but I have a bad feeling about it. Anyone with true knowledge of this subject, please try to fill me in so I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

Xerox Standard Accounting Bug on Macs

We have a Workcentre 7545 with "standard accounting" enabled. Our macs can't update to the latest Xerox drivers (supplied through Apple's automatic update) because the new drivers break "standard accounting". By break, I mean that when they try to print something the printer prints an error page stating "The job was deleted due to invalid accounting IDs". When we've tried to get a fix from our supplier (a Xeroxsubsidiary), we're told "don't do that" (i.e. don't update to the new drivers). So, we're stuck using an old driver.

The event the brought this back up was the purchase of a new printer for our communications team (Phaser 7800 GX). Installing the drivers for this new printer, caused the drivers for the 7545 to be updated as well (thereby breaking accounting). So, we had to downgrade the driver (which downgraded it for both...

The accounting log is full. An Account Administrator needs to retrieve the accounting data from the machine in order to restore machine operation. All machine services are disabled.

xerox cant scan to file share

I have a xerox workcentre 7830 and 7550. I had both printers scanning to a file share, then I moved to file share to a new colo location and it is VPNing into our network right now. IT has the same ip address and everything. But the printers get a login error when trying to scan/write to the file share. 

The printers are correctly setup on the domain. have permissions to write to the folder. I even used my own credentials that I know work and I still get a failure when scanning.

I have tried changing the smb port to 443. Have setup by name and by ip. Have restarted several times. Everyone can access the file share and write to it. the printers just cant for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

How to reset a WorkCentre 7535?

We have 3 WorkCentre 7535's that we are returning to our vendor because our leases have expired.  We would like to reset all our information in the units before we send them back.  (Fax settings, network scan settings, email settings, etc.)  I have searched through the web interface and the control panel with no luck (although the web interface allowed me to reset a few settings in a few sections).  I came up empty searching Spiceworks & Google.  Any ideas?
